Easter Vigil at the Ysleta Mission

The true meaning behind Easter is sometimes forgotten amidst the bunny, the eggs, the baskets, and of course the candy and chocolate. Those in attendance at Saturday’s Easter Vigil at Our Lady Mount Carmel Church were given a reminder of what the holiday is really about, whether it was needed or not.

Easter is the moment in which Roman Catholics believe that Jesus Christ was resurrected from the dead after he was crucified. “Easter is not about the Easter bunny and eggs but it is about the tomb being empty and the Christ has risen.” Our Lady of Mount Carmel pastor Fr. Miguel Briseñor said.
