Festival Committee

The Ysleta Mission Festival Committee fosters the sense of community at Ysleta Mission. Working together as a family, we generate funds in order to

1) make capital improvements to the Ysleta Mission,
2) the historic Jesuit Hall and surrounding buildings for Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish,
3) as well as supporting some parish programming.

We pursue that mission by holding an annual bazaar known as the Ysleta Mission Festival as a celebration for the community of Ysleta. The Festival is held the second weekend in July, close to the feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, July 16th. In 2005, our popular festival invested in bringing a major musical act.

The current Committee was formed in 2001 to revive fading interest in the annual OLMC bazaar celebration and to provide a venue targeting a broad segment of the community.

Our average annual attendance for the 3 day celebration is close to 20,000.  There is no entrance fee but donations are always accepted at the gate. Donations help defray the cost of a regional major entertainment act.

Congrats to fellow Ysleta Mission Festival Committee members for putting on a great Valentine’s Day tardeada. Special thanks to Javi Guerra and “Orgullo del Valle”, “Mike Chavez Disco” for the entertainment and Victor Minjarez “Vic’s Barbeque” for preparing the delicious smoked turkeys. Stay tuned for our next project which will be the “YSLETA MISSION PRESENTS 2ND ANNUAL CONCERT AND CAR SHOW” featuring Jimmy Gonzalez y grupo Mazz, Saturday May 1st.
